San Diego, USA – The participation of CTC Group in the 2015 IAAR Industrial Refrigeration Conference & Exhibition, was highlighted by the presentation of a research that the company developed in cooperation with Professor Dr. Yiqiang Jiang from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). The study, called Energy efficiency improvement strategies of ammonia-based refrigeration system used in indoor snow dome, was very praised by the assistants, thanks to its relevance within a recent and yet unexplored topic, the indoor snow domes.

In this research, Professor Jiang along with Mr. Ian Zhao (Director of Products Engineering at CTC Group) compared the rated energy capacity and the energy consumption of indoor snow domes based on different snowmaking methods. As a second phase, Energy Efficiency Improvement Strategies where tested to the ongoing project, DaWangShan Ice and Snow world, developed by CTC Ice & Snow in Changsha, China. The results show a considerable decrease to the operation energy consumption, when using ammonia-based refrigeration systems along with a condensation heat recovery application as well as enhanced insulated floor and air cooler system.
